A magnitude 5.3 earthquake struck Batangas province in the Philippines on Monday afternoon December 13.
Footage shows rows of mobile phone cases swaying as the quake was felt in Quezon City in the capital Manila.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) said the quake struck at a depth of 99 kilometres near Calatagan municipality at 5:12 PM local time.
An intensity of III, characterised as ‘weak,’ was felt in Quezon City, while the tremors were recorded at intensity II or ‘slightly felt’ in nearby Zambales province.
PHIVOLCS forecasted aftershocks, but added that no damage or tsunami warnings were expected because of the depth of the earthquake.
