Frost covered crops on farms in the Philippines as temperatures dropped to as low as 6 degrees Celsius during a cold spell in the northern part of the tropical country.
Footage taken on December 10 in Benguet province shows a man scraping off the thin layers of ice that had formed on pieces of wood in a farm in Atok town.
The farmers were forced to harvest their cabbages early to avoid the crop being damaged by the frost. They added that they have started planting hardier vegetables to weather the freezing temperatures that usually linger from December until around February the following year.
