A giant panda was caught conducting a prison break from its enclosure in China.
The adorable panda named Meng Lan tried to climb over the metal fence of his pen in Beijing on December 15 as zoogoers watched in amusement. Video shows Meng Lan slowly dragging himself up the railings while tourists recorded the escape on their phones.
Meng Lan only had a brief moment of freedom, however, as staff caught up with him and used food to lure him back to the enclosure. The six-year-old panda is reportedly known at the zoo for having a rebellious streak.
Beijing Zoo staff said the panda had no physical problems and ensured they would tighten security to prevent further prison break attempts.
