Sports cars and machine guns were seized from crackdown raids on gambling sites in Thailand.
Police announced the arrest of the alleged operators of the online gambling website 123PLUS in Nakhon Ratchasima province on December 21.
The crime suppression team and local police had set up blockades and caught five suspects on the premises, while three other members were still on the run.
The team seized more than 100 million THB worth of assets including 14 luxury cars, nine motorcycles, five automatic rifles, four pistols, 219 rounds of ammunition, and other electronic devices.
Police Lieutenant General Somprasong Yenthum said: ‘The Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha has ordered the Royal Thai Police to work out the problem of citizens suffering from technological crimes.
‘We are in the process of requesting arrest warrants for the other members. We have already arrested the five suspects for the offence of jointly organizing electronic gambling, Baccarat, gambling on assets without permission, and laundering money.
‘We are investigating and arresting the suspects on the loose and will continue to expand the arrest of online gambling network operators. Residents are welcome to share information with us via phone regarding the gambling network.’
