The ad displayed on the Omotesando Hit Vision screen on December 20 featuring Nanaki, or Red XIII, a playable character from Final Fantasy VII.
Video shows Nanaki running from a helicopter, in an action-packed sequence that ends with him falling asleep in the middle of a pile of presents. The campaign, which will run until January 2, is promoting limited sales for the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade game for the PlayStation 5.
Final Fantasy VII is a popular 1997 PlayStation game that has spawned an anime, movies, a novel, and multiple spin-offs for newer game consoles and smartphones.
The latest iteration, Final Fantasy VII Remake, was released on April 2020 for the Playstation 4. It was then adapted as Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for the PlayStation 5, and launched worldwide on June 2021.
