Buildings washed away as heavy rain causes flash floods in Malaysia

Buildings were washed away by flash floods after heavy rain in Pahang, Malaysia, on Sunday afternoon (Jan 3).

Footage from the town of Jerantut shows the torrents of water that overflowed from a nearby river gushing through the streets, before tearing down structures and washing them away.

In the capital Kuala Lumpur, roads were flooded and thousands of residents were evacuated.

Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director Datuk Azisman Alias urged the public and road users to stay safe.
