This is the moment a stray dog that was stuck in a canal was rescued in Thailand.
Locals called the rescue team after finding the stray dog swimming in the grassy canal in Nonthaburi province on January 5.
Upon arrival, the team climbed into the water and searched through the area for the stranded mutt. It was later discovered hiding among the thick weeds.
The men cut down the grass and used dog-catching poles to try and reach the pooch. However, it broke loose several times while thrashing wildly in the water. It took several minutes before the dog was finally pulled up to safety.
A rescue team member said: ‘Residents near the canal told us they saw the dog stuck in the canal for days. When we reached the spot, the grass was so thick we couldn’t even see the dog.’
