Sunflowers bloom alongside golden sunset during cool winter spell in Thailand

Tourists take selfies while enjoying the sunset in a field of sunflowers in bloom during the annual cool weather spell in central Thailand.

The flowers bloom for a couple of weeks every year when temperatures drop during winter – a brief seasonal respite from the sweltering tropical heat which passes 30 degrees Celsius for most of the year.

Aerial drone footage shows visitors enjoying the bright yellow sunflowers basking in a golden sunset of Thursday evening January 13 shortly before 6pm local time.

A paraglider was even seen in the distance criss-crossing through the sky enjoying the scenery below.
