This is the heart-stopping moment a parachutist almost fell to his death when his gear failed to open properly.
Footage shows the man spiralling down through the air in Shaanxi province in China on January 18. Terrified onlookers watched as he spun around while struggling to spread the parachute’s canopy.
He was halfway to the ground when the life-saving device finally straightened out to stabilise his landing.
An onlooker said: ‘The parachute was tangled up. Luckily, it spread just in time and the parachutist landed safely on the ground.’
